Based in Brighton, Tim is known for expressive oil portraits that explore mood and likeness through bold tonal contrasts. His style draws from classical portraiture as well as modern abstraction, and his passion for painting was nurtured early by his grandmother, a skilled watercolourist. A finalist in last year’s competition, Tim returns in 2026 following his striking portrait of Richie Campbell.
